Reading Time: 4 minutesZach’s senior session was one for the books! We spent a full two hours together for my Signature Senior Session, and I loved how his personality and interests really shined through in every location we visited. Two hours might seem like a long time, but honestly if I could, I would only have two hours sessions. It’s the perfect amount of time to get to know each other and not feel rushed. This is even more important when you add in various locations, even if they are close together. I also go back a ways with this family all the way back to Vacation Bible School where I remember Zach being this 5 year old. Time doesn’t stand still for anyone!
Senior Session Locations
We started out at the Lake Wilson bridge, a perfect backdrop for natural, relaxed portraits. The warm light and leading lines of the bridge gave us a classic, timeless feel to begin the session. In this one location, I am always happy with the amount of variety and poses we can gain without moving anywhere!
From there, we headed to the Wilson Country Club for a round of portraits that tied in Zach’s love for golf. Not only did we capture him out on the course, but this part of the session also gave us a chance to showcase his easy-going personality in a place that feels like home to him.
Of course, one of the best parts of the afternoon was when his family met us with his sweet fur babies. Including pets in senior photos always brings out genuine smiles, and it’s such a fun way to document this season of life. His dogs were so sweet and behaved, and they made for some truly joyful images.
To wrap things up, we took the session downtown to Historic Downtown Wilson, where we went for an edgier vibe. This is where Zach pulled out his truck and his grandpa’s Toyota Cruiser, adding a personal and meaningful touch. The combination of the city backdrop, the Barton water tower, the vehicles, and a little moodier lighting gave us a bold, unique ending to the session that felt authentically him.
Zach’s session had it all—nature, sports, pets, family history, and a little downtown edge. That variety is exactly why I love my two-hour Signature Senior Session; it allows us to move around, tell your story, and include the things that make you who you are.
Congratulations, Zach! I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do after Greenfield School.
