Ava, Class of 2024

I have been so behind in blogging lately, but I couldn’t help but share some of my favorite images from Ava’s September senior session! Ava is a senior at James B. Hunt High School.  She is always SO down to earth and low key, but I loved the directive she took in her senior session.  She knew these locations and it gave me a chance to simply show up from Wilson, and try to use my creative mind!

Airlie Gardens

The first thing to recognize if you are considering a senior session at Airlie Gardens is that photographers definitely need a permit.  I purchased this in advance to ensure all would go smoothly.  We had just experienced a hurricane the day before Ava’s session, but everyone at Airlie Gardens was SO wonderful in communicating.  They were prompt when I asked about the conditions of the gardens just after the hurricane and everyone was SO nice upon arrival!  There is SO much to see, so I will say that if I ever have the chance to shoot here again, I will definitely opt into the golf cart travel!

Outfits

Ava’s outfits brought a different level of style to her session!  I always encourage an outfit that you normally wouldn’t wear everyday.  Either with texture, flair or more upscale.  Once I posted sneak peeks of her senior session, the most popular response was, “wow, that dress!”  Here is a link this fun dress which added dimension to her movement! Katie May Chasing Dawn Dress Her next outfit was a simple leotard emphasizing her love of dance!  She has been involved with Hunter’s Dance forever, so including this aspect of her life was spot on!  I loved her off the shoulder green top from Revolve and white pants from Zara!  Free People Hold Me Closer Top & High Waisted White Pants

Lumina Station

Another neat part of Ava’s session was that her relaxed vibes about hopping over to another location.  She saw this cute area as she was driving with her mom, so we popped in! Lumina Station is full of cute dine in restaurants, beautiful foliage and boutiques!  For a Saturday afternoon, it was surprisingly not very busy while we were there. We had the chance to simply walk around the shops and  grab photos here and there! Enjoy a glimpse into this fun afternoon!
